The Puppies Arrive..

Our two year old Australian Shepherd Caladesi had her puppies on the afternoon of August 29th, 2010. The first puppy arrived under my computer desk (the half black faced pup we comically refer to as "Batman"). The confused mom was frantically trying to travel back and forth between the first arrival and her "den" (a box of towels and blankets we had provided for her to nest in), which left me to cut the umbillical cord for the first pup. Despite the hectic start, the remaining six pups arrived without a problem. Cala remained in her box, methodically going through the motions like a pro even though she was a first time mom.

The fuzzy little caterpillars have been growing very quickly since then, with new developments every week. Here, I will try to keep interested adopters updated on each pup's progress with images and a few notes. We plan to wait until the pups are about six or seven weeks old to begin taking reservations for them. We plan to wait until the eighth week to allow them to go to their permanent homes to ensure that they get maximum time with mom so that they have a good, strong start in life.

To be fair, we will send out an email with a link to this site to anyone that has expressed interest, and will begin reserving pups on a "first to respond gets him or her" basis. At this point, we have already had two potential homes interested in "Ninja," the all black puppy, so we feel that this will give everyone a fair chance to choose their pup. It won't hurt to have a second choice in mind and include that in your response when the time comes.

Thanks for reading about Caladesi's puppies! We hope to help each one find a loving, permanent home!
